Problem Statement
An error "Timeout Detected" is being received while trying to access FTP with WinSCP in Windows VPS.
Resolution
If the FTP service was working fine with other FTP client application, the issue may be related to the WinSCP configuration. Increase the Timeout limit in WinSCP as follows:
- Open WinSCP.
- Click on Edit for your saved FTP account.
- Click on Advance settings.
- From new popup, click on Connection.
- Increase Timeout limit to 30 seconds.
